Eczema During Pregnancy

When you're pregnant, there are many changes that occur in your body like blood pressure changes, hormone changes, and may include skin texture changes. Because each women is different, these changes are not the same for everyone. No one knows why, but some women who have eczema pre-pregnancy find that their eczema flare-ups are worse; while other women find that their eczema completely goes away for the duration of the pregnancy.

Most likely your skin will be especially dry and irritated during this time, and that is why you'll need to set up a daily moisturizing regiment using an emollient on your skin, and more importantly, that you stick with it.

Make sure that you maintain a healthy diet and drink lots of water to keep the impurities flushed out of your system. To keep your immune system in tip-top shape, you'll need as much rest as possible and avoid all allergens and irritants that bother you.

Some of the common eczema medications are not recommended for use during pregnancy, so you'll want to talk to your doctor for other eczema treatments that won't harm your baby. If you plan to breastfeed, doctors won't advocate these medications either.

Eczema Relief is not only a concern while pregnant, but also after you bring your precious little bundle home.

  1. When I was pregnant, drinking a lot of water really helped the eczema that flared-up. The other tips are great too - I'm going to share them with my sister who just found out she's pregnant, so her pregnancy will go smoothly.
