Spring Cleaning

I don´t know about you, but after the long winter I´m in the mood for some spring cleaning. I´m not talking about cleaning my kitchen walls but a deep skin cleaning. Between the cold weather and the dry air, it really took a toll on my skin. But now that spring is here, I´m ready for a refreshing spring makeover.

It doesn´t matter how attentive you were with your skin during the winter, you´ll most like have some buildup of dry, flaky skin. There are a lot of different natural exfoliants available to leave your skin looking smoother and healthier. You should be careful not to use a strong, scrubbing exfoliants that contain, for example, walnut or almond shells, on your face because it can actually cause small tears in your skin, making it feel and look worse.

I found this receipe for a natural body scrub and thought it was wonderful to get rid of the winter caused skin dullness.

BODY SCRUB: Mix 2 cups of brown sugar with 1 cup of olive oil and add a small amount of ground ginger. Mix well into a paste. Using circular motions, rub your entire body, paying special attention to elbows, heels, and knees. Rinse with a body wash and wet washcloth and towel dry. The result: Softer, suppler, and less dry skin.

Okay, now I´m ready to drink in the warmth of spring.
